How to book

Once your booking is confirmed, Brian will give you the key-box code. The box is to the right of the door: slide the cover, set the dials, press the lever, and take the keys. If you pop out after setting up, leave the keys in the box. When you finish, scramble the dials and close the cover. A torch is useful on dark evenings, even though the outside light comes on by itself.

Bring your own tea towels. Tables are in the store room through the double doors near the stage, up the slope, room on the left. Chairs are on the stage (the stage door is often bolted from the inside). Padded chairs are not for children’s activities.

Bluetooth speakers sit on the stage, to the right of the curtains as you face the hall. Switch them on at the control panel, then pair your phone with Powerline, code 1234. Volume from the panel or your phone.

Kitchen: the hot-water boiler starts from standby if you hold the left-hand sign for a couple of seconds; allow about 15 minutes, and return it to standby when you finish. For the oven, lift off the wooden hob cover and switch the mains on to the left; when the clock flashes, set the time with + and confirm with the top button (three lines). The dishwasher takes the Mini cycle (30 minutes); detergent is in the cupboard beside it.

General waste goes in the grey bin at the hall entrance, not the bins by the benches on the Green. Take glass and plastic home for recycling. Naked flames are not allowed, except short birthday candles under adult supervision.
